سورة الطارق: {وَالسَّمَاءِ وَالطَّارِقِ * وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا الطَّارِقُ * النَّجْمُ الثَّاقِبُ * إِن كُلُّ نَفْسٍ لَّمَّا عَلَيْهَا حَافِظٌ * فَلْيَنظُرِ الْإِنسَانُ مِمَّ خُلِقَ * خُلِقَ مِن مَّاءٍ دَافِقٍ * يَخْرُجُ مِن بَيْنِ الصُّلْبِ وَالتَّرَائِبِ * إِنَّهُ عَلَىٰ رَجْعِهِ لَقَادِرٌ * يَوْمَ تُبْلَى السَّرَائِرُ * فَمَا لَهُ مِن قُوَّةٍ وَلَا نَاصِرٍ * وَالسَّمَاءِ ذَاتِ الرَّجْعِ * وَالْأَرْضِ ذَاتِ الصَّدْعِ * إِنَّهُ لَقَوْلٌ فَصْلٌ * وَمَا هُوَ بِالْهَزْلِ * إِنَّهُمْ يَكِيدُونَ كَيْدًا * وَأَكِيدُ كَيْدًا * فَمَهِّلِ الْكَافِرِينَ أَمْهِلْهُمْ رُوَيْدًا}.^[1]

At-Tāriq: “By the heaven, and At-Târiq * And what will make you to know what At-Târiq * (It is) the star of piercing brightness * There is no human being but has a protector over him (or her) * So let man see from what he is created * He is created from a water gushing forth * Proceeding from between the backbone and the ribs * Verily, (Allâh) is Able to bring him back (to life) * The Day when all the secrets * Then he will have no power, nor any helper * By the sky (having rain clouds) which gives rain, again and again * And the earth which splits (with the growth of trees and plants) * Verily, this (the Qur’ân) is the Word that separates * And it is not a thing for amusement * Verily, they are but plotting a plot (against you O Muhammad) * And I (too) am planning a plan * So give a respite to the disbelievers; deal gently with them for a while”.^[2]

The best thing to read after the Noble Qur’an is the words of the Messenger of God, Muhammad, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him. I will first read the hadith in Arabic and then pass on its translation into English:

عَنْ أَمِيرِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ أَبِي حَفْصٍ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَقُولُ: “إنَّمَا الْأَعْمَالُ بِالنِّيَّاتِ، وَإِنَّمَا لِكُلِّ امْرِئٍ مَا نَوَى، فَمَنْ كَانَتْ هِجْرَتُهُ إلَى اللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ فَهِجْرَتُهُ إلَى اللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ، وَمَنْ كَانَتْ هِجْرَتُهُ لِدُنْيَا يُصِيبُهَا أَوْ امْرَأَةٍ يَنْكِحُهَا فَهِجْرَتُهُ إلَى مَا هَاجَرَ إلَيْهِ”.

It is narrated on the authority of Amirul Mu’minin, Abu Hafs ‘Umar bin al-Khattab (ra) who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say: “Actions are (judged) by motives (niyyah), so each man will have what he intended. Thus, he whose migration (hijrah) was to Allah and His Messenger, his migration is to Allah and His Messenger; but he whose migration was for some worldly thing he might gain, or for a wife he might marry, his migration is to that for which he migrated”.

• {رَّبِّ أَدْخِلْنِي مُدْخَلَ صِدْقٍ وَأَخْرِجْنِي مُخْرَجَ صِدْقٍ وَاجْعَل لِّي مِن لَّدُنكَ سُلْطَانًا نَّصِيرًا}.
  • الترجمة: “And say (O Muhammad): My Lord! Let my entry (to the city of Al-Madinah) be good, and (likewise) my exit (from the city of Makkah) be good. And grant me from You an authority to help me (or a firm sign or a proof)”.
• {رَبِّ اشْرَحْ لِي صَدْرِي * وَيَسِّرْ لِي أَمْرِي * وَاحْلُلْ عُقْدَةً مِّن لِّسَانِي * يَفْقَهُوا قَوْلِي}.
  • الترجمة: “O my Lord! Open for me my chest (grant me self-confidence, contentment, and boldness * And ease my task for me * And loose the knot (the defect) from my tongue * That they understand my speech”.

  • الترجمة: Khadija bint Khuwaylid, the wife of the Prophet Muhammad, may God bless him and grant him peace, was the first woman to convert to Islam.
• أول من أسلم من الصبية علي بن أبي طالب كرّم الله وجهه.
  • الترجمة: The first of the boys to embrace Islam was Ali bin Abi Talib, may God have mercy on him.
• أول من رمى سهمًا في سبيل الله سعد بن أبي وقاص رضي الله عنه.
  • الترجمة: The first to shoot an arrow in the way of God was Saad bin Abi Waqas, may God be pleased with him.

• من عاش بوجهين مات لا وجه له.
  • الترجمة: He who lives while deceiving people will die without receiving their love.

Al-Ghāshiyah: “Has there come to you the narration of the overwhelming * Some faces, that Day will be humiliated (in the Hell-fire) * Labouring (hard in the worldly life by worshipping others besides Allâh), weary (in the Hereafter with humility and disgrace) * They will enter in the hot blazing Fire * They will be given to drink from a boiling spring * No food will there be for them but a poisonous thorny plant * Which will neither nourish nor avail against hunger * (Other) faces that Day will be joyful * Glad with their endeavour (for their good deeds which they did in this world, along with the true Faith of Islâmic Monotheism) * In a lofty Paradise .^[4]

عَنْ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ أَيْضًا قَالَ: “قالَ: يا مُحَمَّدُ أخْبِرْنِي عَنِ الإسْلامِ، فقالَ رَسولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عليه وسلَّمَ: الإسْلامُ أنْ تَشْهَدَ أنْ لا إلَهَ إلَّا اللَّهُ وأنَّ مُحَمَّدًا رَسولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عليه وسلَّمَ، وتُقِيمَ الصَّلاةَ، وتُؤْتِيَ الزَّكاةَ، وتَصُومَ رَمَضانَ، وتَحُجَّ البَيْتَ إنِ اسْتَطَعْتَ إلَيْهِ سَبِيلًا”.

Also on the authority of `Umar (ra) who said:

 and said: “O Muhammad! Inform me about Islam.” The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) replied: “Islam is that you should testify that there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah and that Muhammad is His Messenger (ﷺ), that you should perform salah (ritual prayer), pay the zakah, fast during Ramadan, and perform Hajj (pilgrimage) to the House (the Ka`bah at Makkah), if you can find a way to it (or find the means for making the journey to it).”

كلمتنا اليوم عن الصدق وفضله، الصدق هو نقيض الكذب، وهو الإخبار بالواقع كما هو دون تغيير أو إضافات، وذلك بأن يكون مطابقًا لما في الضمير، ويعد الصدق من الأخلاق الحسنة التي دعا إليها الإسلام وأوصى بها، فهو أحد الأسس المهمة في حياة الإنسان والتي ينبغي أن ترتكز عليها؛ وذلك لأنه يسهم في صلاح العلاقات الاجتماعية بين الأفراد.

وللصدق أنواع عديدة، فهناك صدق القول، وهو ألّا يقول الإنسان إلا الصدق، وأن يبتعد عن الكلام الباطل والسباب، وأما النوع الثاني للصدق فهو صدق العمل، وذلك بأن يكون عمل الإنسان مطابقًا لقوله وللحق الذي يحرص على فعله، وأما النوع الثالث للصدق فهو صدق النية وتكون صدق النية بإخلاص العمل لله تعالى وحده لا شريك له، كما أنّ للصدق فضل كبيرٌ في الإسلام، فالصادق يحظى بمحبة الله ورسوله، كما ينال جنة النعيم بإذن الله تعالى، فالزموا الصدق تظفروا.

Our word today is about honesty and its virtue. Honesty is the opposite of lying, and it is telling the reality as it is without change or additions, by being in conformity with what a person hides in himself, and honesty is one of the good morals that Islam called for and recommended. on which life must rest; This is because it contributes to making social relations between individuals valid and solid.

There are many types of honesty, including Truthfulness of saying: It is that a person says nothing but the truth, and that he stays away from false speech and insults.The second type of honesty is for a person to be truthful in his work, and that is when a person’s work matches  what he says about his work.

The third type of honesty is the sincerity of intention, and this type of honesty is through making the work purely for God Almighty alone.And honesty has a great merit in Islam. The honest person enjoys the love of God and His Messenger, and he also obtains the paradise of bliss, God willing, so if you want to enter Paradise, be among the truthful.

On the authority of Abdullah, the son of Umar ibn al-Khattab (ra), who said:

I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say, “Islam has been built on five [pillars]: testifying that there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, establishing the salah (prayer), paying the zakat (obligatory charity), making the hajj (pilgrimage) to the House, and fasting in Ramadhan”.

  • الترجمة: “My Lord! Bestow Hukm (religious knowledge, right judgement of the affairs and Prophethood) on me, and join me with the righteous * And grant me an honourable mention in later generations * And make me one of the inheritors of the Paradise of Delight”.
• {رَّبَّنَا إِنَّنَا سَمِعْنَا مُنَادِيًا يُنَادِي لِلْإِيمَانِ أَنْ آمِنُوا بِرَبِّكُمْ فَآمَنَّا ۚ رَبَّنَا فَاغْفِرْ لَنَا ذُنُوبَنَا وَكَفِّرْ عَنَّا سَيِّئَاتِنَا وَتَوَفَّنَا مَعَ الْأَبْرَارِ}.

People should be like one body. If a member complains of it, the whole body cares about it. A person is strong when he finds help from his fellow human being. Therefore, people should support each other, and nothing should separate them. Cooperation makes life easier for people. It speeds up the completion of work, and facilitates its completion, as cooperation is the lethal weapon with which people fight disunity and dispersal.

Cooperation takes many forms, including children helping their parents to get work done, spouses helping each other in doing business, including helping neighbors to each other, and students helping each other to gain knowledge. There are many forms of cooperation as well, and cooperation can be achieved in societies by focusing on the virtues of cooperation and its results that appear in the person and in society, so each individual must extend a helping hand to everyone who needs help and support.

Al-Balad: “I swear by this city (Makkah) * And you are free (from sin, and to punish the enemies of Islâm on the Day of the conquest) in this city (Makkah) * And by the begetter (i.e. Adam عليه السلام) and that which he begot (i.e. his progeny) * Verily, We have created man in toil * Does he think that none can overcome him? * He says (boastfully): “I have wasted wealth in abundance!” * Does he think that none sees him? * Have We not made for him two eyes * And a tongue and two lips? * And shown him the two ways (good and evil)?”.^[8]

عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا رَسولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عليه وسلَّمَ -وهو الصَّادِقُ المَصْدُوقُ- قالَ: إنَّ أحَدَكُمْ يُجْمَعُ خَلْقُهُ في بَطْنِ أُمِّهِ أرْبَعِينَ يَوْمًا، ثُمَّ يَكونُ عَلَقَةً مِثْلَ ذلكَ، ثُمَّ يَكونُ مُضْغَةً مِثْلَ ذلكَ، ثُمَّ يَبْعَثُ اللَّهُ مَلَكًا فيُؤْمَرُ بأَرْبَعِ كَلِمَاتٍ، ويُقَالُ له: اكْتُبْ عَمَلَهُ، ورِزْقَهُ، وأَجَلَهُ، وشَقِيٌّ أوْ سَعِيدٌ، ثُمَّ يُنْفَخُ فيه الرُّوحُ، فإنَّ الرَّجُلَ مِنكُم لَيَعْمَلُ حتَّى ما يَكونُ بيْنَهُ وبيْنَ الجَنَّةِ إلَّا ذِرَاعٌ، فَيَسْبِقُ عليه كِتَابُهُ، فَيَعْمَلُ بعَمَلِ أهْلِ النَّارِ، ويَعْمَلُ حتَّى ما يَكونُ بيْنَهُ وبيْنَ النَّارِ إلَّا ذِرَاعٌ، فَيَسْبِقُ عليه الكِتَابُ، فَيَعْمَلُ بعَمَلِ أهْلِ الجَنَّةِ”.

On the authority of Abdullah ibn Masood (ra), who said:

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), and he is the truthful, the believed, narrated to us, “Verily the creation of each one of you is brought together in his mother’s womb for forty days in the form of a nutfah (a drop), then he becomes an alaqah (clot of blood) for a like period, then a mudghah (morsel of flesh) for a like period, then there is sent to him the angel who blows his soul into him and who is commanded with four matters: to write down his rizq (sustenance), his life span, his actions, and whether he will be happy or unhappy (i.e., whether or not he will enter Paradise). By the One, other than Whom there is no deity, verily one of you performs the actions of the people of Paradise until there is but an arms length between him and it, and that which has been written overtakes him, and so he acts with the actions of the people of the Hellfire and thus enters it; and verily one of you performs the actions of the people of the Hellfire, until there is but an arms length between him and it, and that which has been written overtakes him and so he acts with the actions of the people of Paradise and thus he enters it”.

Below are some of the supplications that I chose from the Holy Qur’an

• {رَبَّنَا لَا تَجْعَلْنَا فِتْنَةً لِّلْقَوْمِ الظَّالِمِينَ * وَنَجِّنَا بِرَحْمَتِكَ مِنَ الْقَوْمِ الْكَافِرِينَ}.
  • الترجمة: “Our Lord! Make us not a trial for the folk who are Zâlimûn (polytheists and wrong-doers) * And save us by Your Mercy from the disbelieving folk”.
• {رَّبِّ أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ هَمَزَاتِ الشَّيَاطِينِ * وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ رَبِّ أَن يَحْضُرُونِ}.
  • الترجمة: “And say: My Lord! I seek refuge with You from the whisperings (suggestions) of the Shayâtîn (devils) * And I seek refuge with You, My Lord! lest they should come near me”.

  • الترجمة: The first person to receive the title of Commander of the Faithful was Omar Ibn Al-Khattab, may God be pleased with him.

• النجاة في الصدق.
  • الترجمة: Surviving difficult things is only in honesty.
• الصدق عز والباطل ذل.
  • الترجمة: Honesty gives a person dignity, while falsehood gives a person humiliation.
• القناعة تفوق الغنى.
  • الترجمة: A person with contentment is better than a rich person who has nothing but money.

فقرة كلمة اليوم للإذاعة المدرسية

لقد خلق الله الإنسان، وجعل له أمًا وأبًا وأوصاه أن يرضيهما ويبرهما، ونهاه عن عقوقهما، وذلك لما لهذين المخلوقين من فضل على الإنسان، فالأم تحمل طفلها تسعة أشهر داخل رحمها، وتتكبد العناء والمشقة والألم، وإذا ما حانت ولادته وضعته وأرضعته واهتمت به، ثمّ يستمر اعتناؤها به إلى أن يشبّ ويحسن تدبير أمره.

وأمّا الأب فإنه يفنى في سبيل تأمين أسباب العيش المناسبة لأبنائه وتلبية طلباتهم، لذا يجب على الإنسان أن يكون بارًّا بوالديه ليكسب خيري الدنيا والآخرة، فيطيعهما فيما يمليانه عليه مادام الأمر ليس مخالفًا لشرع الله، ولا يغضبهما أو يكسر كلامهما، وأن يؤمّن لهما كل ما يحتاجان إليه، وأن يترحّم عليهما إذا ما توفيا.

When God created man, He created him from a mother and a father. Therefore, God Almighty commanded this son to please his parents and provide them with kindness and care, and forbade him from disobeying their commands; This is because parents have a right over their son because of the suffering they suffered when he was a child.
The mother carries her child for nine months inside her womb, and during the pregnancy she suffers from great pain and fatigue, and when the time comes for the birth of this child, the mother suffers from severe pain, and after the child is born, the mother takes care of him, breastfeeds and feeds him, and the mother’s kindness continues to her son until he grows up and is able to take care of himself.

As for the father, he gets tired a lot while he works to secure the appropriate means of living for his children that meet their requirements. Therefore, a person must be righteous with his parents in order to earn the good of this world and the hereafter. He obeys them in whatever they dictate to him as long as the matter is not contrary to God’s law, and he must not anger them or go against their words, and to provide them with everything they need, and to pray to God Almighty to have mercy on them if they die.

At this time, a person begins to form new relationships outside the framework of the family. A friend is a person who accompanies us at work, at school, or in moments of collective achievement.
